The yellow one is  my Favorite so far!

We got a Rooster from our friends as well, we're not sure what kind he is, isn't that terrible?

We named him Rex.  :)

Trucking with Dad!

Hey everyone, just got back from trucking with dad. His new job allows us to come with him on the road. This is dad's second week with his new job and Gabe and I have already gotten to go! We went to Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Tennessee on this route. The roads are so pretty. We were surrounded by tall pines most the time, we also saw some beautiful fields, filled with cows and horses.

Gabe had a Great time!

We were gone for Three days, This is what we saw Most the Time.

Gabe and I took truck stop showers for the fist time,Gabe was so excited, that he saved the receipt for memory!   :)        Dad thought I was bored in the truck, but with dad life never gets bored! I am so blessed to have a dad like Dad.

In conclusion to all of this, I would like to say that I learned a lot about trucking. You need patience to be a truck driver, patience is not my best subject. Therefore, I tell ye I could never be a truck driver. But I still had a lot of fun with Dad.  :)     ~  Hagen

Wonderful Blessings

Hello Everyone! Sorry we haven't made a post in forever. With Spring here, we have been so busy! It feels nice to get outside and work in the warm sunshine again! I love how God does that. To me, Winter is a time of thinking, reflecting and learning how we can do things better for Him and Spring is the time for acting and working out the things we have learned! What a Blessing!

The Lord has been blessing us abundantly! The Whispering Tree has been accepted into the Greater Springfield Farmers Market! Our first market day will be April 14th! Please pray for a productive day, and also that we would not get discouraged the first time around.

Another blessing is that Dad is now working for a wonderful Christian business, Covenant Ranch. Covenant Ranch delivers Azure Standards orders to people in the Midwest. We are blessed to be friends with them!

My favorite verse we have been learning is Nahum 1:7- The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knows those who trust in Him.

Hope everyone has a blessed week and has a chance to enjoy this wonderful season in Life!- Layla

Gabe made this beautiful wood burning of my favorite verse!

Recipes, Links and Goats

So last week was super busy and full of baking! I made Sourdough Crepes for the first time. They we're a hit! We made Cranberry Jelly, Sprouted Lentils, No- Churn Ice cream, and Soaked Pumpkin Bread!

You want the recipes, right?

Sourdough Crepes

1 cup sourdough starter
3 eggs
3 Tablespoons butter
pinch of salt
1/4 cup milk
2 tablespoons yogurt

I got this recipe from Wardeh at GNOWFGLINS. She has great instructions. I added yogurt to mine, which gave the crepes a nice flavor. We filled our crepes with fruit salad and topped them with Homemade yogurt and Organic honey! We fried our left over crepes and made the best tortilla chips ever!

Cranberry Jelly

4 cups frozen cranberries
1/2 cup honey
3 Tablespoons water

Cut cranberries in half, if you don't mind cold fingers! If you do mind, you can always smash them with your trusty potato smasher! In a sauce pan, stir together all ingredients. Simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. The cranberries will jell up on their own, so you will be left with a nice, thick jelly. Store in jars for future use! This is the easiest jelly recipe ever!

We sprouted lentils for the first time. They were different, but good! Wardeh will tell you all about it Here!

The No- Churn Ice Cream was from Food Renegade was a hit! We made ours vanilla, but she gives tons of variations!

Here it is, plain and pretty!
And here it is topped with almonds and cocoa powder!

The Soaked Pumpkin Bread was also from Wardeh! It was so delicious. We served it with our Cranberry Jelly of course!

And now for the goats! I bred my Kinder Doe, Annabell, with an awesome Kinder Buck, named Rufus! We are expecting kids in July! I wonder what the kids will look like.

Rufus, the Buck

Annabell, the Doe

Hope you all have a Great, Joy filled week! Layla
