Cherry Jam

I made some delicious cherry jam, with cherry's fresh from the tree! Every body enjoyed picking them, but Really enjoyed eating them!
You need very few ingredients :

5-6 cups Fresh pitted Cherry's
1 cup Honey
1 cup Sugar
2 tsp. Vanilla
2-3 tsp. Cinnamon
This is about the amount I did of every thing, you can tweak this any way you like.  :)

Combine all ingredients in a pot, simmer on medium, medium / low for 10-15 min.
Stir frequently. Pore in jars, cool, and enjoy!

I hope this makes you happy, it made me happy! :) Comments make me happy too!   ~ Hagen

Thumbprint Cookies

Imagine a plate full of delicious cookies that melt in your mouth, filled with ooey-gooey fruit preserves and glazed to perfection. As you step closer, your nose detects their mouth-watering smell. Your hand reaches towards the plate, you slowly grab one, and take the little bite of heaven. You keep saying to your self, "Just one more...", but they are so addictive!

These cookies are from Gluten Free Mama's new cook book, In The Kitchen with Gluten Free Mama. I took the recipe and altered it, which I always do! These cookies would be great for a tea party, or just snacking. They are fun to make with the children, too. I know you are dying for the recipe, so I won't torture you any longer.

Cranberry Orange Thumbprint Cookies

2 cups flour( Bob's Red Mill, Gluten Free Mama's Blends, Gifts of Nature or your choice)
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. xanthan gum

3/4 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. orange extract
1 egg white

1-2 Tbsp. milk, if needed

Cranberry Jam, or jam of your choice

Orange Glaze
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. orange extract
1-2 Tbsp. milk

Combine first four ingredients in a mixing bowl and set aside.
In a large bowl, cream together butter, sugar and orange extract. Add egg white, mixing well.
Slowly add in flour mixture and mix well. You may need to add the milk to make a nice dough ball.
Make 1 inch balls and set on ungreased cookie sheet. Now it's time for the fun part! Press the top of the cookie balls with your thumb to make an indention. Fill each hole with a scoop of jam. Pop them in a 350* oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden. Let cookies cool slightly before removing from pan. While they are cooling, whip up the glaze. Drizzle glaze over the cookies.

If you love these cookies as much as I do, leave a comment! Blessings-Layla

Waving Grass

The grass is so tall by our goats, it's taller than Matilda! I love how it ripples in the breeze! We mowed a path through, it looks so pretty!

The sky was pretty too!
