Video Friday {No. 2}

Hello everyone! It's Friday, are you ready for our next video? I know the day is almost over, but I was having some serious technical difficulties!

This video we would like to share is a tour of our farm in the winter. Now, we don't have a full fledged farm, just a micro-farm. We actually farm off of .48 of an acre!

We are posting two videos this week, because a few things happened after our first video, and thought you should know about it!

Now, without further adieu, we present to you our Farm Tour.
Enjoy!

And the update video...

Just so you know, the fours hens are still alive and are building immunities. The keifer water is really helping! I finally figured out how to tell the difference in a boy and girl rabbit, so Marshmallow is actually a girl!

Hope you enjoy this little tour! There will be loads more videos once Spring comes and we start working in the garden again!
Blessings,
Layla & Hagen

I ♥ Thursday {No. 4}

Happy Thursday Everyone! Here's what we are loving this week...

Hagen's ♥'s

This week I've been loving my black flats. They go with pretty much everything :)

My sister, Matilda, and I curled our hair with these, and we loved it!

I started reading this book and I highly recommend it for all young women!

For Christmas Mom and Dad bought me a drawing course book and sketch pencils!

Layla's ♥'s

French braided up-do's. I'm thinking of doing a video on all of my favorite french braided hair style's, what do you think?

Bunnies! Yes, this is one of ours. :)

Vintage circus photos, because I've been helping my Mom with her blog, Notes From The Circus !

The Henningsens... my new favorite country band! They are a wonderful family with ten children. When I was at the Campbell's, Rashida and Meadow where so excited that they made it on the radio because they are all good friends!

Hope you are having a great week! Are you looking forward to tomorrow's video? I sure am!
Blessings,
Layla & Hagen

Biblical Inspiration- Faith

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1

What an amazing verse...
So simple, yet so powerful.
The Hebrew word for faith is “Batah” which means “trust in, trust or rely upon” or “feel safe, trust, be full of confidence”.

This verse tells us that by having faith, we should put our entire trust and full confidence in that which our faith is in. Whether it's during hard times or blessing, we all, including myself, need to put our entire confidence and trust in The Lord. Only the Lord can change peoples hearts, only the Lord can save you, only the Lord can bring healing to this nation and world. As 1 Timothy 6:12 says, "Fight the good fight of faith."

My prayer for each of you that reads this is that you will be strengthen in the Word, that the Lord would equip you with wisdom and knowledge in Him, and that each of us would fight the good fight. It is written in James 2:26, As the body without the Spirit is dead, so faith without works is also dead. May the faith and confidence that we have in our Lord, Jesus Christ, shine out through our daily lives, and reach those that are trapped in the darkness.

Blessings,
Layla

The Birthday Cowboy

This past weekend our sweet little brother, Eli, turned 4!

He was the roughest, toughest 4 year old in the West. All the outlaws shook in their boots at the mention of his name. They feared the wooden steed he rode. They feared his right-hand man, Jack. Those sissies ran in fear when they saw that bright orange hunter's cap coming their way.

Eli on his wooden horse Dad made, sporting his legendary hunter's cap, made by Layla.

Jack, his right- hand man, made by Hagen.

Another wooden masterpiece, made by none other than Dad.

A little video of Eli blowing out his candles. You can hear how musically talented we are (wink wink).

We had quite the celebration. Eli really enjoyed it! After all the singing, presents and cake, we were all tuckered out.

We love you, Eli, and know that you will be a loving and protecting Father and Husband some day!
 Blessings,
Layla & Hagen

Just a walk in the meadow...

Just a walk in the meadow...

Just a walk in the meadow... by layla-wilbanks featuring a scoop neck shirt

I am looking forward to the spring!
Don't get me wrong, I love winter, it's one of my favorite seasons (there is only four to choose from). But lately it has been so, so cold, and we have been inside a lot, that I feel like I'm getting cabin fever! So, I wait in expectation for Spring to appear!

What do you think of this outfit?
Is it cold where you live?
Blessings,
Layla

Pomegranate Coconut Fudge

Are you craving chocolate, but still want it to be healthy? Same here...

This super simple recipe is super yummy. Thank You to Wardeh at GNOWFGLINS for the fudge recipe. It's actually her homemade chocolate chunk recipe, but we just added in some more yum-yums!

Pomegranate Coconut Fudge Recipe:

1/3 cup coconut oil
2/3 cup honey
1 cup cocoa powder

1/4 cup shredded coconut
1/4 cup chopped almonds
1/2 cup pomagranate

 1. Prepare an 8x8 or 9x9 pan by lining it with plastic wrap. I just used a large plastic baggy.
2. In a sauce pan, melt together the first 2 ingredients on low heat.
3. Bring to a boil. Let boil for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
4. Remove pan from heat and stir in cocoa powder until smooth.
5. Add in the last 3 ingredients.
6. Spoon chocolatey mixture into your prepared pan.
7. Set in freezer for 1-2 hours, or until it's set up.
8. Remove from pan, and cut into bite sized chunks!

This recipe is so versatile. You can replace any of the add ins for your own! I would love to see what you create!

Blessings,
Layla
