What She Wore// Street Style :: Guest

Hello readers!
I wanted to share with you this Street Style outfit worn by my very sweet friend, Gideon.

I thought her outfit was so stylish! The texture of the cardi and the mix of neutrals was really nice.
But she really doesn't like to be in front of the camera... I kinda had to force her to let me shoot her, but she's just so natural!

Isn't she beautiful? It was really fun to get her pics. It was like a little mini photoshoot, but on a whim!
The hat is actually mine, but I thought it matched perfectly, so I had Gideon wear it for the pics.

-What She Wore-

 Shirt- handmedown
Tank- Walmart $5
Cardi- Ross $12
Pants- from a friend
Boots- gift
Hat- borrowed

Isn't she just lovely?

Hagen

I believe that Spring is finally here!
Today I'm sharing a very Spring-y outfit, worn by Layla.

Cute,  Casual,  Comfy. The shirt adds color, while the boots add depth and the earrings add texture. Love it!

The shirt was on sale, a kinda of surprise find...
The earrings she made herself which is always better and more personalized.
She also fixed her in a messy bun!

-What She Wore-
Shirt- Dollar General $5
Tank- Target $?
Pants- Walmart $12
Boots- Army Surplus $30
Earrings- homemade

I love the mix of color and neutral in this outfit.
What about you?

What She Wore// Katniss Cowl

Hey there!
I hope you are having a great Sunday, I know I am! The snow has finally melted here in the Ozarks. Here is an outfit I wore a few weeks ago when there was still snow on the ground...

I have to admit, I love this outfit! It's comfortable, cozy and a little bit edgy. You see that cowl? Mom made it for my birthday from an old sweater. She's quit the seamstress! If you're a Hunger Games fan, you'll know that it's a Katniss cowl. It's so cozy and super warm. And not to mention, the color is awesome!

You should see the looks I get when I wear this outfit. Some people just stare, thinking,"What in the world is that girl wearing?". Others smile and nod because they know. Although not everyone may like it, I do and that's all that counts, right?

Looking at this picture, all I can hear is Katy Perry's "Roar".
In case you didn't already know, I'm crazy :)

-What She Wore-
striped shirt: gift
cowl: gift
jeans: Walmart $13
combat boots: Army Navy Surplus $30

What do you think?

Do you have a favorite outfit or item that may not necessarily be "in", but you still love it?
Don't worry about what others think, because the haters will just keep on hating!
With love,
Layla

What She Wore// The Sojourner

Hey There!
We hope you enjoyed our Thrift Haul Video! Here's an outfit Hagen put together using some of her new pieces...

She calls it 'The Sojourner'. It's a comfy, yet durable outfit. With her Vans and backpack, she's ready for an adventure! I love the denim heart knee patch. It's actually covering up a rip from when I fell while skateboarding down a hill :) I guess you have to get creative with hand-me-downs!

You might recognize this printed headband from the video. We forgot to mention that it was $1. Not bad for a cute accessory, eh? I fixed Hagen's hair in a quick and simple boho do.

 -What She Wore-
skinny jeans- hand-me-downs
top- thrifted $3
gray tank- from a friend
Vans- Shoe Carnival $45
backpack- Walmart $18
headband- thrifted $1

I think it's a pretty stinkin' cute outfit, what about you?

Layla

Sunday Style// Floral Dress

Hello Lovelies!
I'm going to share an outfit post with you that is way over due. With Summer here and lots of work to be done outside, we don't really dress up much, except for church. Here's an adorable outfit Hagen put together a few weeks ago...

I really love this outfit, not only because it was pieced together cheaply, but also for the way everything complements each other. The neutral tones of the shrug and sandals counter the pop of the maroon flowers. And not to mention, it's modest!

-What She Wore-
dress: thrifted $8
shrug: from a friend
tank: hand-me-down
sandals: Wal-mart $10

Isn't my sister a beauty? She turned 15 last week (I can't believe it!), which I will be posting next. I hope your Summer is going great!
God's blessings over you,
Layla

What She Wore// 50's Feel

Hello, I've got another outfit for you!
This one was really fun, with a nice little 50's feel...

Layla does it again! I love the pieces she used for this outfit, from her Oxford pumps that were super on sale, to her cute red earrings that were given to her by two special, sweet friends of ours for her birthday! (You know who you are!)
Not to mention, she can pull off a high-waisted skirt so well!
Her 'cat-eye' glasses also add a touch of 50's as well as color...

I'll let you in on a little secret... Layla's cute button up shirt is not a shirt at all, it's a dress! She just simply pulled her neutral skirt over it and, Viola! Her favorite little black dress now works as a top, too!

-What She Wore-

dress/top: Ross $7
skirt: Goodwill $2
shoes: Payless $15
earrings: from a friend
headband: homemade

And of course her hair! She did really great with this, mine probably wouldn't have stayed, but that's another story... Oh, and did you noticed she colored it? I think is looks really great on her and complements her well!

What do you think of this thrifty, 50's outfit? What's you favorite thing about it?
Hope you are enjoying this nice weather!
Love,
Hagen

What She Wore// Oxford Pumps

Hello Dearies!
Today I'm going to share with you an adorable, vintage-y outfit modeled by Layla!
It was a bit chilly out when we snapped these pics, so we decided to take them inside...

I like how the neutrals in Layla's skirt (which she made herself, by the way) blend well with her Oxford Pumps and braided belt, and the sweater adds a nice pop of color while also complementing her blue eyes.

-What She Wore-

sweater: Ralph Lauren- from a friend $0
braided belt: Ross $8
skirt: homemade $0
knee high socks: Walmart $5
oxford pumps: Payless $15

I think the Oxfords kinda tie this whole outfit together, giving it the vintage feel Layla was going for.
Over all, I really like this outfit! Cute and comfortable, modest and feminine, aaaaand on a budget!

I hope you liked this outfit! Have a great weekend!
Love,
Hagen

What She Wore | Spring Is In The Air...

Hello everyone! Today I am going to share with you a super cute outfit styled by my super cute sister, Hagen! I love this relaxed boho look... and do you know what's funny? Almost all of these pieces were given to her by a friend, just at different times! Not to mention, this said friend has excellent style! I love the way Hagen put everything together to make this outfit that is ready for spring!

Her top was one of those open-shouldered tops, but she sewed up the shoulders to make it more modest!

-What She Wore-
tribal top: Day Trip- from a friend
gray tank: from a friend
skinny jeans: Old Navy $8
shoes: Vans- from a friend
bag: from a friend
hair: fishtail braid

Are you ready for spring? I know we are! The weather here has been gorgeous, the last few piles of snow are melting, and there are buds on the trees. Spring is in the air! Hope you have had a productive week, I can say without a doubt that we have!
Love from,
Layla

What She Wore// Lovely Layers

Hello friends! I hope you are well. Our family has had the flu this week, poo! Thankfully it is moving through quickly, everyone is recovering well, and Mom and Dad haven't caught it yet... Praise the Lord!

This outfit is from a while back when we had tons of snow! It was bitterly cold, and so quiet. I love how the snow insulates everything...

I really like all these layers she has on, and the way she put them together! The pinks, browns and creams all go well with her complexion and really pop against the white snow.

My favorite elements of this outfit are 1) the bulky scarf from her friend, 2) the floral cuffs of her skirt rolled over the cardigan sleeves and 3) her bun!

-What She Wore-
brown shirt: hand me down -$0
 button-up: from a friend -$0
cardigan: borrowed from L -$0
scarf: handmade by friend -$0
jeans: Old Navy -$8
socks: Walmart pack of 3 -$5
boots: Academy -$50
coat: Walmart -$40

What are your favorite elements of this outfit? What are some ways you like to layer your clothes?
Stay tuned for an overdue post on I <3 Thursdays tomorrow!

Layla

What She Wore// Dreams of Paris

Bonjour! Comment allez-vous?
(Hello! How are you?)
I am feeling a bit French-y today, can you tell? This outfit I am sharing with you is one of my favorites of Hagen's. I call it her Paris outfit!

If you didn't know, Hagen and I have always dreamt of going to Paris one day... to see the Eiffel tower, stand by the Seine, and drink lattes made by a professional French barista!

I love the pattern play of this outfit! The stripes of the shirt and the floral-y pattern of the skirt. The black and gray color scheme with the pop of red...

-What She Wore-
shirt: hand me down $0
tank: Wal-mart $3
skirt: refashioned $0
shoes: Shoe Carnival $50
hair clip: homemade $0

Do you wish to visit Paris one day?

What She Wore// Floral Shirt

Hey Friends!
I hope you all had a marvelous New Year! I am going to catch up on some outfits from last year, that way we can start fresh! And please excuse my lack of photography skills...

This outfit is one that Hagen wore during Autumn, when the temperature and leaves were dropping...
It seems like she put together her most expensive items to create this outfit! The jacket was a great Wal-mart find. The flowy, floral shirt is from an awesome friend (you know who you are!) and it goes well with her complexion. That massive ring adds just the right pop of color!

 -What She Wore-
shirt: from a friend $0
tank: Walmart $3
jeans: Target $8
coat: Walmart $40
shoes: Shoe Carnival $50
ring: thrifted $3

Isn't she a beauty? She can be such a goofball sometimes, and other times she is just plain angelic...
I am so glad to start the new year off with this girl by my side!

Layla

What She Wore// Grey Sweater

I hope you are enjoying all of these fashion posts. We have accumulated quite a bit of pictures that need posting...

Today is Hagen's turn. As I said in this post, I just love her!

I'm sure you have noticed that she is an excellent photographer, and that I am not! But she is so photogenic that I think it makes up for my anti-photographer-ness (is that even a word?).

-What She Wore-
red shirt// from a friend, by Rue 21
purple tank // Walmart ($3)
grey sweater // from a friend, by Old Navy
skinny jeans // Old Navy ($9)
shoes // Shoe Carnival by Converse ($50)
tree necklace // gift, by Hot Topic
Grand Total= $65

The most expensive item in this outfit are the high-tops, of course!

Look at those dimples!
It is cold and snowy here, so we are cooped up inside... Look out for more posts!
Love,
Layla
