What She Wore// Oxford Pumps
Hello Dearies!
Today I'm going to share with you an adorable, vintage-y outfit modeled by Layla!
It was a bit chilly out when we snapped these pics, so we decided to take them inside...

I like how the neutrals in Layla's skirt (which she made herself, by the way) blend well with her Oxford Pumps and braided belt, and the sweater adds a nice pop of color while also complementing her blue eyes.

-What She Wore-
sweater: Ralph Lauren- from a friend $0
braided belt: Ross $8
skirt: homemade $0
knee high socks: Walmart $5
oxford pumps: Payless $15
I think the Oxfords kinda tie this whole outfit together, giving it the vintage feel Layla was going for.
Over all, I really like this outfit! Cute and comfortable, modest and feminine, aaaaand on a budget!
I hope you liked this outfit! Have a great weekend!
Love,
Hagen

What She Wore// Dreams of Paris
Bonjour! Comment allez-vous?
(Hello! How are you?)
I am feeling a bit French-y today, can you tell? This outfit I am sharing with you is one of my favorites of Hagen's. I call it her Paris outfit!
If you didn't know, Hagen and I have always dreamt of going to Paris one day... to see the Eiffel tower, stand by the Seine, and drink lattes made by a professional French barista!
I love the pattern play of this outfit! The stripes of the shirt and the floral-y pattern of the skirt. The black and gray color scheme with the pop of red...
Do you wish to visit Paris one day?
Avec Amour,
(With Love,)
Layla

What She Wore// Patterned Skirt
Have you ever met one of those people who are always smiling, no matter what is happening in life? No matter if they are sad on the inside? They keep on smiling, even when it's raining?
Well, I have. And I am proud to say that one of those people is my sister!
This girl brings her own sunshine wherever she goes! Love and Grace shine through her deep, brown eyes...
She knows how to keep things simple and cute! She doesn't get caught up in petty things, like the latest fashion, what's hot and what's not... She has her own style and I love it! Don't you?
What's not to love?
I am so blessed to have Hagen as my sister and best friend!
Love ya,
Layla

Summer's End {an oufit & poem}
Well, if you haven't noticed, Summer has left us. She has packed her bags and traveled to another country. Yes, I was so sad to see her leave, but she brought a new friend with her! Autumn is her name. This outfit was my last attempt to keep Summer from going, but alas, Autumn brought the chilly breeze. Below is a poem I wrote...
Summer, my friend, where are you going?
Was it something I said?
Don't you remember the things we did?
The smell of flowers in our noses,
the sweltering heat
and sand in our toes?
Summer, dear Summer, why won't you stay?
Do you really have to pack your bags
and go away?
Why, who is this?
Your friend, Autumn, you say?
She seems nice,
I'm not so sure about her, though...
She smells like cinnamon and pumpkin spice,
aromas that tickle my nose.
Nice to meet you, Autumn.
How do you do?
What's that, you want to play?
Climb trees, eat apples
and jump in a pile of leaves?
Okay!
Thank you Summer, for introducing me to your friend.
We're having lots of fun!
Wearing sweaters and scarves,
sitting on benches
and running through parks.
Well, Summer, I think I'll be fine...
I will pass the time with this new friend of mine.
Autumn holds my hand as I cry and wave "good-bye!"
Part of me is still sad to see you go...
Oh, how I will miss you so!
But I'm glad I won't be alone
as I wait for your return.
Summer, you will always be in my heart!
I have come to terms with the leaving of Summer and welcomed Autumn with open arms. It will be full-blown Fall posts from here on out!
With Love,
Layla

What She Wore Wednesday~ Sunday Best
Hello Lovelies!
A quick apology: I intended for this post to be up already, but apparently the internet thought otherwise. ;)
A quick apology: I intended for this post to be up already, but apparently the internet thought otherwise. ;)
Tonight's post features outfits from a few weeks ago, which we wore to church.
Hagen wore a blue floral shirt, striped skirt and black bow flats.
Hagen wore a blue floral shirt, striped skirt and black bow flats.
I love how she hiked up her skirt to make it high-waisted! I think it suites her. You can't really see the pattern of her shirt very well in this picture.
If you look closely, you can see the flowers on her shirt. I love the floral and stripe pattern play!
This is a lovely shot of her, don't you think?
~What She Wore~
shirt- from a friend $0
tank- walmart $3
skirt- made by her $0
shoes- from a friend $0
hair clip- homemade $0
Only 3 bucks? That makes this outfit even cuter!
I tried my hand at the boho style. I wore a simple black dress, strappy sandals, and a headband.
I tend to twiddle my fingers when I am having my picture taken...
Oh yes, how could I forget, I also wore my favorite feather earring which Hagen made from our own duck!
Look out, this boho hobo needs a ride!
~What She Wore~
dress- Ross $7
shoes- walmart $10
headband- made by me $0
earring- Christmas gift $0
Well, 17 bucks isn't too bad, right?
I hope you enjoyed seeing these outfits as much as we enjoyed wearing them!
Blessings,
Layla

What She Wore Wednesday- Maxi's
I know this is a bit late, but I wanted to make sure I posted about our Easter celebration before I moved on to the fashion!
On Sunday, Hagen and I both wore maxi's. I'll start off with Hagen's...
Hagen wore a green printed maxi dress, sequined shrug, brown flats and wooden bead necklace. I love how everything flows together!
This picture was taken outside of the cowboy church we visited on Sunday.
I really like this picture. It looks like she's a jungle princess! This is outside the Mexican Restaurant.
~What She Wore~
maxi dress- thrifted $5
green tank- thrifted $2
shrug- free from a friend
flats- free from a friend
necklace- from our late Grandma
hair flower- made by Layla
Now it's my turn...
I wore a maxi skirt, a deep purple tank, tan crocheted shrug and roman sandals.
The maxi skirt is actually a funny story...
I was kinda stressing out about what I was going to wear for Easter, when Hagen dug out a maxi dress that neither of us have worn in a while. I was excited! When I went to try it on, I found that the zipper was stuck, and refused to budge. We all took turns yanking and prying on it, but that just made it worse! So, I resolved to turn it into a skirt.
I pulled out the sewing machine, and went through my mental checklist:
thread- check
bobbin thread- check
foot pedal- check
iron- check
elastic- check
bobbin thread- check
foot pedal- check
iron- check
elastic- check
pins- wait, where are the pins?
We searched and searched, but alas, no pins! I had to improvise. I ironed my seam down well, and used a few bobby pins to secure the fabric. It was a simple alteration, once I was able to do it. All in all, I was pleased with how it turned out!
~What I Wore~
maxi skirt from a dress- thrifted $5
tank- Target $2.50

I hope you enjoyed this post. I am happy to be doing another What She Wore, it has been too long! And one more quick picture of us...

What She Wore Wednesday- {Rustic&Chic}
Hey There!
How have you been?
I am doing good, thanks for asking!
So, this weeks Wednesday post is not going to be what I wore, instead it will be what I wish I could wear!
This is my dream boho outfit, it is exactly what I envision! I love each of the items, I think they
bring just the right balance of rustic and chic. What do you think?

I love skirt and the flowy top together. I really like the leather bag with the bit of crochet, it's rough meets dainty.
What are your favorite elements in this outfit?
Do you like the boho style?
I hope you enjoyed this twist to our usual Wednesday post!
Blessings,
Layla

What She Wore Wednesdays- Wool Skirt
Hello friends!
I know today is Saturday, and you are probably bummed that we didn't do a Wednesday, Thursday or Friday post. I was on the truck with Dad this week and yesterday was my birthday, is that a good enough excuse? No, you say? Well, I am going to try to make it up to you and catch up on those posts....
This week we did pictures on the tracks again... it's so much fun!
Hagen went vintage with a really old wool skirt, a stripped button-up, flats, and curly hair!
A close-up on her shirt. I love the floral fabric on the cuffs.
Showing off her button bracelet she got for Christmas from her sweet friend.

Bunnies! Yes, this is one of ours. :)
Vintage circus photos, because I've been helping my Mom with her blog, Notes From The Circus !
The Henningsens... my new favorite country band! They are a wonderful family with ten children. When I was at the Campbell's, Rashida and Meadow where so excited that they made it on the radio because they are all good friends!
Hope you are having a great week! Are you looking forward to tomorrow's video? I sure am!
Blessings,
